vibe johansson brings an alternative angle to simple, sensual styles which question convention. an avant garde approach to draping, which allows for innovative ways to wear the same item, but differently. enjoy a quiet collusion of lines and curves which add an understated elegance to everyday wear - designed for any wear.
inventive / inverted
fascinated by the endless possibilities found in draping, vibe’s signature style is all about fluidity and femininity. found in an array of silhouettes where simple is sublime. Most of vibe’s patterns start as geometric shapes which she re-shapes into something else. the result is a range of items you can turn around, such as tunics you can wear upside down. a tube dress that doubles as a huge hood. a scarf that’s a skirt that’s a dress. details are re-positioned, such as zippers which belong in the back are in front. while other items are reincarnated from a previous life, like a skirt made out of a man’s shirt.
subdued / sensuality
there’s nothing girly, frilly, flamboyant or silly about vibe’s designs. on the contrary, they create the space for women to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. some fabrics are somewhat see-through, so the effect is sexy but not in an obvious way. “to me, sexiness is about allure, not exposure. my clothes are designed to appeal to women who exude femininity from within…” says vibe.
the fabrics / the feel
all fabrics are high quality jerseys and knitwear made in italy and produced at the same factory as prada, and dior. the fabrics are soft, drapey and occasionally stretchy, with a surprisingly light touch and feel. they’re also easy to wash and wear, with nothing to worry or obsess about.
what they are / what they’re not
vibe’s clothes are designed with duality - depending on the styling. it’s everyday wear which can be worn as evening wear. essentials which add and enhance the wardrobe you already have, in a coherent look created to linger longer in your closet. they’re not tricky, trendy, seasonal, temporary or tragically destined to be suddenly so last week.
