Graduating with a degree in International Studies and Political Science from the University of Washington, Deborah Roberts became interested in fashion as a way to explore our visual history.
She attended the School of Apparel Design & Development at Seattle Central and worked in the industry in design and textile development before launching the Silvae line in 2013.
Meaning “of the woods,” Silvae is inspired by her surroundings in the Pacific Northwest, merging clean lines, textural fabrics and a love for fine art, which can be seen in her fabric prints developed with artist Olivia Knapp.
The collections are produced domestically in New York, and Silvae is proud to be a supporter of The Wilderness Society, working to protect our green spaces through wildland designation, renewable energy and connecting the public to wild places.
