minä perhonen's design process always begins with fabrics where each hand-drawn design is expressed with weaves, prints, and plump embroidery works. minä perhonen also aspires to develop new materials and techniques with production centers at home and abroad.



The name of the brand originates in the Finnish language as Minagawa sympathizes with the lifestyle and the culture of Finland through his many travels to Scandinavia. "minä" mans "I" and "perhonen" stands for "butterfly". Just like the species of butterflies are countless, the designs, too, continue to increase. As its characteristic fabrics and creativity have been widely acknowledged, great attention has led to invitations to several museum projects worldwide.
