Louise Amstrup
Danish born Louise Amstrup spent part of her childhood living in Germanyand later returned to Duesseldorf to complete her studies. In 2003 she graduated from Akadamie Modedesign, where she was awarded the "Graduate Talent" prize. She is now based in London.
Louise has worked with various designers including Alexander Mcqueen, Jonathan Saunders, Alistair Carr, Sofia Kokosalaki and Catherine Walker. However, with the growing interest and demand for her work, Louise decided it was time to take on a new challenge. She successfully launched her self- titled debut collection "Louise Amstrup" in 2006 and following a phenomenal response, is proud to announce the launch of her third
collection. Recently Louise has showcased at London Fashion Week for two seasons, was awarded sponsorship through the Fashion Scout to show her SS09 collection at Shanghai Fashion Week and opened Copenhagen Fashion Week with her AW09 collection.
With an aim to dress women in contemporary garments and promote individuality, Louise Amstrup creates a powerful, feminine collection with a soul to suit the female shape. Her culturally mixed background is
reflected in her designs: a hint of the strict and constructed meets soft and surreal, but always with a slightly ironic stitching. " I don't like it when designs or creativity seem forced, I believe that my clothes rest
in their own creative personality and radiate a natural soul- a piece of my imagination".
