“When I was 19, I wanted to do something mine: I started this business using my surname, and changing the "I" into a "Y" for it to be more international.” C. Freddi
This is how, in 1976, the adventure of Carlo Freddy and his activity began. Freddy was born as a company devoted to the production and commercialization of shoes for rhythmic gymnastics and demi-pointe shoes for ballet, but it soon became a landmark in the field of dance and fitness wear.
In the '80s, with the success of aerobics as a sports discipline, and then in the '90s with the trend of hip hop and funky and the trend of street dance in the years Freddy confirmed its connection with the Art of Movement, meant as the aesthetic expression of talent, energy and freedom of individuals. The Art of Movement is the pay-off that, for years, has been the fil-rouge of the sports soul in Freddy's collection.
The connection with the world of Movement seen as an artistic expression made Freddy become a sponsor and partner of important international institutions such as the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala and the Royal Ballet London. Another prestigious acknowledgement is the agreement made in 2008 with CONI, after which Freddy became sponsor and official provider of the Italian Olympic Team for the Summer Games in Beijing 2009, the Mediterranean Games in Pescara in 2009 and the Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010.
The tie between Freddy and the world of sports continues through the partnership with the Italian Gymnastics Federation, which saw the Farfalle of the Italian Team of Rhythmic Gymnastics step on the podium, in Freddy clothes, of the London Summer Games of 2012 and of the main international competitions of the past few years.
Lately, a new important project was born, the WR.UP pant, through which Carlo Freddi wanted to sum up in a single product femininity and technological innovation, with a unique garment that obtained important commercial results all over the world. The outcome is the exclusive and patented WR.UP technology, a series of cuts, inserts and materials that naturally enhance and support the feminine body. Sexy, Unique and Cool are the adjectives that better describe the WR.UP pants, which soon became an icon in the Active-Fashion segment, a real must have for those women who want to enhance their femininity without having to forgot comfort.
Today, Freddy can be found in numerous countries: in its concept store Pant Rooms, in its Flagship Stores and through the wholesale distribution, thanks to several agreements with important international partners.
Innovation and novelty always led the company's work throughout its history, and are still the foundations of every new project and proposal made by Freddy to national and international markets.
