PHILOSOPHY
We are passionate about bags. They require a unique combination of characteristics. They must be ergonomic, functional and stylish. We enjoy the challenge of bringing these elements together.
Our design process stems from extensive experience in designing technical packs for
specific outdoor activities. We meld the functionality and performance of outdoor equipment with the craftsmanship of couture and the edginess of urban street-style. Our products are designed to excite people and capture their senses. They are engineered to fulfill people’s practical needs and are built to last.
We live in a bustling city and love it. Our bags are designed to add color and form to the urban landscape. We like to think of our products as mobile street art and of our customers as urban curators.

We appreciate products that endure, things one would fix and maintain rather than throw away and replace. We keep this in our minds when we design our bags, it determines the materials we use and the methods of construction we employ.
Our bags are made for strong-minded individuals who demand that their creative spirit, sense of style and need for function and quality are reflected in what they choose to own.
MATERIALS
We have gone a long way to ensure that our products are cut from the right materials.
We love old bags that still function well despite being used extensively, bags that look and feel better as they age. We seek this quality in our bags so therefore we choose materials that last and age well.
The leather we use is produced by one of Italy’s prime tanneries. The tannery is located in Tuscany, where the art of vegetable tanning is a centuries old tradition.
The tanning process is environmentally friendly. It uses only natural tannins, extracted from the trunks, leaves fruits and roots of plants and trees such as Chestnut and Mimosa.
The tanning process takes as long as forty days, but it is worth the wait. This slow process transforms the raw-hides, with their imperfections and irregularities, into long lasting leather that shows its natural characteristics and ages beautifully. No two skins are exactly the same; this gives an expression of individuality and character to each of our bags.
Our canvas of choice is made in Japan from Egyptian cotton. This type of cotton has extra long fibers that can be spun into yarns that are finer and yet stronger than other cotton yarns. The finer yarn results in higher thread counts, which makes a canvas that is extremely strong and durable. Egyptian cotton also absorbs dyes better than other types of cotton; therefore its colors are vibrant and stable.
The whole canvas manufacturing process - spinning, weaving and dying - is done in an eighty-year-old mill in Japan. The mill maintains a traditional manufacturing process that does not lend itself to mass-production; this process results in a canvas with unsurpassed density, durability, texture and hand-feel. An additional wax finish ensures water repellency and protection from the urban elements. Both our high quality leather and canvas stretch organically and age well. As a bag owner, you will see this process take place.
CRAFT
It takes a lot of skill, attention to detail and dedication to fuse our unique materials into a functional high-quality designer bag. It is a process that cannot be automated. Each bag is hand made by up to three craftsmen and women that spend as much as fifty hours to assemble one bag.
The nature of our materials and craft is such that no two bags are exactly the same. The handprints of our craftsmen are molded into every product. The craftsmen and women who produce our bags and those who make the raw materials we use are all masters of their art. These people take great pride in the products they make; they are the true heroes behind our bags.
