PATRIK MUFF
Born in 1962 in Hochdorf, Switzerland, into a family of craftsmen, jewellery designer Patrik Muff grew up in a highly creative environment, surrounded by hammers, nails and saws.
After completing training as a goldsmith, he studied art in Cologne and there came into contact with very important representatives of the art scene. He then studied briefly in New York and London, opened his “4. König” jewellery shop with Klaus Arck and Marie von Chamier and took on teaching posts at Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences and Salzburg Summer Academy. Since 1991 he has been represented by internationally renowned galleries, jewellers and fashion stores. In addition to his own collections he has produced project work with well-known artists and fashion houses such as Jenny Holzer (1994), Strellson (1999), Schiesser Revival (2004) and Puma (2006).
In 2008 he created the “Essentials” jewellery line for Nymphenburg. Patrik Muff took his inspiration for the collection from historical Nymphenburg designs such as Franz Ignaz Günther’s skull dating from around 1756. Strong sacred symbols expressed in clear imagery – characteristic of the work of the designer who currently lives in Munich. The pieces of his collection “Treasures” almost have a magical impression.
