MAXIME SIMOENS
What kind of woman wears your clothes?
A modern and independent woman with character and a sense of humour who doesn’t forget her feminity.
The garment has to bring her self-confidence without ever restraining her. I love geometry & contrasts, the one of black and white, as in a bar code, the logo of my brand.
Biography
In 2006, Maxime Simoëns graduated at the top of his class from the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and went on to pursue his apprenticeship in couture houses including Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior and Balenciaga.
Thanks to this experience and the enthusiastic support of the press, Maxime soon fulfilled his dream of launching his own house.
After two presentations, Maxime joined the official Couture schedule.
It was the first time in history that a designer became a member of the Federation without ever having first staged a show. He showed his first collection in January 2011.
In February 2013, the Maxime Simoens Company announced that it had partnered with the LVMH group, which would provide financial and strategic support. With this announcement, the house officially joined the ready-to-wear fashion calendar, starting with its March 2013 presentation.
Simoens prefers to work outside current trends, following his own vision and innovative style, which can best be defined as a mix of graphics and architecture.
The subtle geometry of his silhouettes combines structure and fluidity. The precision of sleek lines reveals feminine sensuality and a modern yet timeless elegance.
