COS expanded into the Middle East in 2012, working with franchise partner M.H Alshaya Co. to open stores in Kuwait City and Dubai. The brand currently has 103 stores across 21 countries and continues to expand. The COS collection is comprised of high quality fashion essentials, reinvented classics and iconic seasonal styles at comparable prices for women, men and children.
Accessories, leisurewear, swimwear and underwear all form part of the COS collection. Approximately 80% of the collection is womenswear and 20% menswear. Sizes range from 34-44 and XS – L for women and 46-54 and S – XL for men. In 2008, COS introduced a childrenswear collection, sizes range from ages 1 to 8.
The entire COS collection is created in-house, by a team of designers and buyers based in COS’ London headquarters. COS does not own factories rather, collections are produced by approximately 60 independent suppliers with 60% of production in Europe and 40% in Asia. New items arrive in-store and online every week. Our stores are designed by our team of architects who take into consideration the architectural heritage of the building and surrounding location. The average size of a COS standalone store is approximately 450m².
COS is part of the H&M group and compliments H&M as it is founded on the same business concept of ‘fashion and quality at the best price’. COS’ prices start off where H&M’s end. This price level allows COS to deliver design-led, high quality product through smaller-scale individually designed boutique stores, where customer service is paramount to the COS shopping experience.
COS also adopts H&M’s strong ethical values. COS suppliers follow H&M’s code of conduct which was drawn up in 1997 based on the Convention of the Rights of the Child and the ILO’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. COS does not sell real fur and only uses leather derived from animals that have been bred for meat production.
