Craig Green was born in London in 1986. In 2010 he completed a Fashion BA at Central Saint Martins, and in 2012 graduated from the Fashion MA. Green’s graduate collection received the L’Oreal Professionel Creative Award, and was nominated for the Design Museum’s Design of the Year 2013. Marrying minimal garments with dramatically sculptural body-pieces, these outfits formed the foundations of the Craig Green menswear label.
Green’s designs were first shown on-schedule through Topman and Fashion East’s MAN show for London Collections: Men autumn/winter 13. Two further showings through the initiative continued to explore a unique marriage between boundary-pushing showmanship and wearability.
With the support of NEWGEN Men, spring/summer 15 saw Green’s first solo show at London Collections: Men. Achieving widespread critical acclaim, the collection cemented the brands core themes of uniform and utility through a cult-like notion of community. This concept is echoed most clearly In the recurring presence of Green’s signature worker jacket, which is subtly adapted for each of his collections.
Craig Green is stocked by some of the world’s most prestigious retailers including Dover Street Market, 10 Corso Como, Selfridges, Barney’s, Joyce and Galeries Lafayettes. His vision has also been lent to a range of one-off and commercialized brand collaborations. Most notably, this has included a range of shoes for Bally of Switzerland and sports inspired casualwear for Champion USA.
