Sunday Riley entered the cosmetics industry from the formulation side, working in laboratories on a multitude of skincare and makeup products. She noticed there was a gap in the marketplace for scientifically advanced, high performance formulas which also utilized pure, potent botanicals and cleaner chemistry techniques. In 2007, she assembled a super-team of cosmetic chemists and started laying down the blueprints for her own brand, beginning with a ten product skincare line-up. The line launched in 2009, featuring cutting-edge skincare which focused on profound preventative and corrective anti-aging technologies along with gentle, purifying cellular detoxification of the skin - a true marriage of biotechnology and botanicals.

Emerging as an innovative skincare and makeup line, Sunday Riley’s products have made their presence worldwide known on the runways of major fashion brands as the official makeup and skincare sponsors of Jason Wu, Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham, Helmut Lang, and The Row at New York Fashion Week, Temperley and Issa at London Fashion Week, and Vanessa Bruno and Maiyet at Paris Fashion Week. She has partnered with both the New York City Ballet, creating a beauty protocol for dancers, and Aspen Fashion Week. Her obsession-worthy products have become favorites of globally renowned makeup artists and are used by high-profile celebrities and supermodels.
