MEN’S COLLECTION FW 16/17
Jacob Cohën Men’s Fall/Winter 2016-17, produced and distributed by Giada Spa represents a cosmopolitan style, sophisticated but informal, enhanced details, accessories, original stylistic solutions. Besides denim and trousers in alternative fabrics, great attention is given to upper garments and accessories with an ample offering of jackets, coats and trench coats, fine knits and leather accessories that complete the exclusive mood of the brand.
Tailored construction, perfect fit and refined details are the characteristics of the main garment from the collection – the five pocket denim – as well as the garments in alternative fabrics – gabardine, fustian, flannel, micro-print velvets – real and true season trend - and wools of Italian excellence like Vitale Barberis Canonico and Solbiati. As ever, garments are offered in infinite shades, obtained through washes and special treatments designed to give shading, used or vintage effects of great charm. Among these is the resin-based “bijoux” treatment which causes colour to be absorbed unevenly to create a pleasant vintage effect and the “ash dye” treatment, a very low environmental impact dyeing system that lends softness and a very natural used aspect to the garment.
The Jacob Cohën Men’s Fall/Winter 2016-17 Collection is embellished by new, original accessories. Those with “ethnic” flavour stand out: Morocco inspires buttons and rivets in antique silver covered with coloured enamels that create elegant graphics also repeated in the linings and on the labels in laser-worked pony; new multicolour labels are made with original fabrics from Kilim Turkish carpets in a feast of colours and voluptuous fabrics. Among the new accessories we also find labels in hand-painted leather with the iconic Lambretta image, symbol of Made in Italy and an even greater variety of tags in pony skin – interpreted in micro-prints and embellished by the logo in fine metal and enamel – in new tartan fabrics and in English wool, the same used for English military cavalry uniforms.
Super luxurious removable leather tags with logo and buttons in palladium, or caiman with logo and buttons in solid silver and gold. The new exclusive Jacob Cohën boxed sets with matching buttons and rivets in wood or in antiqued silver and coloured enamel allow the personalization of your garments with a touch of original sophistication.
The choice of five-pocket and chino models range from traditional fit to softer and more sporty “jogging” trousers in wool with drawstring waist and elastic ankle bands; to military-inspired or work wear models with removable bib and regimental suspenders. Among the exclusive garments, the Limited Edition stands out, made in a limited, numbered edition in fine Japanese selvage denim and embellished with sophisticated details: labels in pony with logo in palladium or enamelled ruthenium, buttons in palladium and steel, matching pocket handkerchief.
The Premium Edition maintains its vintage spirit with treatments that give garments a “used” aspect of great character typical of the origins of denim. Even the packaging is deliberately “rough”, a bag designed to maintain the wrinkled look of garment given by washes. Academy is synonymous with American inspired casual chino, reworked with Italian tailoring. The luxury leisure of Academy is offered again by the Collection FW with six models in different fabrics and prints like checks, Prince of Wales and pinstripe.
The collection is completed by a selection of sophisticated shirts, sweaters and outerwear. Stand-outs in the collection are the elegant coats enhanced by tailored linings with original prints, horn buttons, chambray details. Short jackets in Japanese denim have an original combination of wool Harris Tweed; also in the collection the timeless pea coat in cotton and wool gabardine and a new very original overshirt in heavy denim with camouflage lining, wearable as outerwear. To point out, also the down jacket made in an unusual leather version.
Knitwear ranges from fine, soft models in merino wool and cashmere in vintage shades from classic evergreen of the nautical sweaters with cable stitch neck and refined melange yarns. The new western shirts in denim and selvedge chambray are found alongside the tailored shirt tradition with refined details like mother-of-pearl buttons and the new polo shirts in prints and the classic polos.
Iconic piece of the collection is the Limited Edition jacket dedicated to the master photographer Steve McCurry. An exclusive garment made from washed leather, treated and waxed in three different colours - whose particularity is in the lining print that reproduces the image of an elder from the Rabari community taken in 2010 in India by the famous photographer. Profits from the sales of the garment, designed and made just for the Young Women’s Initiative, will go to the charitable association ImagineAsia founded by McCurry. A must-have for the next winter season, with focus on the informal elegance and naturalness that characterise the Jacob Cohën style.
WOMEN’S COLLECTION FW 16/17
Refined and super feminine, the Jacob Cohën Fall/Winter 2016-17 Collection, produced and distributed by Giada Spa, celebrates the luxury philosophy of the brand and its cosmopolitan, refined image with the quality of the fabrics, the tailored construction and attention to detail that make Jacob Cohën garments synonymous with sophistication and exclusivity.
At the centre of the Collection are the “five pockets”, made of fine denim or alternative fabrics enhanced by always new treatments, accessories, details. A wide range of models from slim to oversize palazzo with stylistic solutions purposely designed to give the garment a precise personality: technical materials combined with traditional fabrics, wool fabric doubling denim, lurex decorations, laser abrasion, delavé effects, micro-prints and decorative studs, even the precious removable labels in ostrich or in pony skin with micro stud details.
Jacob Cohën garments for next Fall Winter have been created with three main themes: contemporary classic, ethic and “party”, dedicated to evening. The contemporary classic mood plays with bon ton lines that are made less dramatic by original stylistic solutions: clean-lined, essential coats and jackets, raw cut edges and leather lapels are juxtaposed with crisp trousers in leather-effect cotton, Japanese denim with striped wool reversible lining or “over” palazzo pants in wool.
Borrowed from the masculine wardrobe, the pinstripe suit is redesigned in a 1970’s key with very feminine flared pants. The elegant silk shirt is reinterpreted in an original version that draws from Western models with laser-worked “patchwork” print. Print jackets in hounds tooth micro-print with leather lapels are combined with the roughest denim with specially created rips and abrasions that look like embroidery, or with super soft and comfortable power stretch denim. Fine wool sweaters with cable stitch motifs and lightweight undershirts with bows combine with new selvedge denim on pockets and belt loops.
The excitement of travel is central to the “ethnic” theme that proposes a series of original garments with spicy flavour dedicated to the woman with cosmopolitan and informal elegance: little dresses and skirts match leather with pony skin and are embellished with decorative motifs of golden micro-studs; luxurious needled coat in leather and wool and the enveloping reversible sheepskin coat with large collar; Andean flavour for the poncho coat in wool print with fringe border, embellished by buttons and toggles with in an exclusive patterned fabric.
The same fabric is also interpreted in the coat version with punched leather sleeves and gives life to very original skirts. Denim is paired with new accessories, enamelled jewel buttons and new silk necktie belts with original ethnic prints.
The “party” and glamour mood, with intriguing, sophisticated details that transform garments into ideal must-haves for evening: the “girlfriend fit” jacket shines in indigo denim with lure workmanship, combined with masculine fit denim with silver lining; flared trousers in brushed micro-print cotton enhanced by a side band in satin that recalls men’s eveningwear; the most glamorous denim offers decorations in golden micro studs, lurex or Swarovski crystals. Refined jacket in Loro Piana wool with jewel buttons and double removable collar and the short jacket in leather and pony skin with mink collar. To not pass by unobserved.
Refined accessories: elegant hats in wool, pony skin belts, symbol of the brand and the foulard belt that accompany all denim created brilliant colours and embellished with new original prints complete the inimitable style of Jacob Cohën.
