KILIAN KERNER Spring/Summer 2014 “Hör nicht auf mit Träumen”
On the first evening of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin Kilian Kerner presented his new Spring/Summer Collection, which had surprises with its unconventional style elements, at his fully booked show. Guests at the show included Fransiska Knuppe as well as the actresses Alina Levshin and Anna Maria Mühe in dresses specially made by the Berlin designer.
With what is now his eleventh show at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin KILIAN KERNER presented his new Spring/Summer Collection 2014 in a dream world full of opposites in July 2013. In the game of contrasts between conformity and unconventionality the designs conveyed the feeling that everything can and may well happen.
Kilian Kerner has intentionally offset the clarity of the cuts with ever surprising elements; shiny metallic insets or lapel collars on a low-cut back were, for example, used in shift dresses.
The designs for Spring/Summer 2014 came alive with their mix of patterns and materials. Using unusual materials, e.g. neoprene, Kilian Kerner gave the minimalistic styles an unconventional look. Cropped tops combined with swirling skirts, shiny leather waistcoats of leather combined with dresses as well as slim-fitting suits with striking leather details and long evening gowns created a multi-faceted look.
The shoes used by Kilian Kerner were a real eye-catcher. For the Spring/Summer Collection the designer cooperated with Nike and designed a line named KILIAN KERNER x NikeiD Styles. The focus at the show was on the Nike Air Max 90, which combined with simple, elegant designs, created a fascinating overall look.
The themes of the collection were also emphasised by the show concept. The runway had painted on together with a 4 x 5 metre picture of a lily in the background elaborately hand-crafted by Diessner. Wigs sprayed with a dusting of gold and subdued make-up with orange lipstick underlined the dreamily unusual styling. The show this season was accompanied by the Mads Langer live act, performing songs from his new album 'In these waters'. For the finale Kilian Kerner presented the collection's highlight: A voluminous skirt made of delicate, translucent silk worn with a top made of over 2,000 sequins sewn on individually formed the final dress of the new collection.
KILIAN KERNER has also continued his collaboration of many years with Grundig, Staatl. Fachingen and Paul Mitchell in the coming season and has gained Blackberry as a new cooperation partner for which he will also be an advertising ambassador from now on.
