Gillian Steinhardt Jewelry combines elements from ancient artifacts, '70s glamour and art deco to create a unique blend of modern classic accessories.
As a celebrity stylist and costume designer, Gillian has scoured the globe for jewelry always in search for that perfect piece to compliment the whole. And many times, that perfect piece resided only in her mindʼs eye. Unable to find a ring, bracelet or necklace to complete her vision, she went about creating her own. It was from this pioneering spirit -- and a fortuitous chance encounter -- her line of fashion jewelry was born.
Gillian has always been creatively motivated. She has earned Fine Arts degrees in fashion design, art history and textile art, studied loom weaving in Mexico and metalsmithing in New York. When London-based luxury retailer Avenue 32 spotted the one-of-a-kind pieces of her burgeoning adventures in jewelry-making, she was ready to take her talents to another level. Impressed with her pieces -- inspired by the geometry of Art Deco and the romance of ancient ruins -- they asked her to develop a full line and to go into production immediately. Within the next six months, her designs were available online alongside the most illustrious names in fashion.
Juxtaposing strong sculptural and architectural forms with the sensual glamour of the 1970s, Gillian Steinhardt Jewelry exudes a certain mystique: polished and refined yet gritty and street-wise, current and modern yet heirloom and timeless. The eye-catching and exquisitely crafted pieces effortlessly compliment the sophistication of the woman who wears it. Itʼs this sort of dance -- along the razorʼs edge that separates rigor from madness, precision and chaos -- that her pieces are seen as. Simply, graceful moments in metal and crystal; wearable art transcending the seasonal, the trendy, the finite, to become a part of oneʼs look, oneʼs life.
