Following in the footsteps of legends like Paul Weller, Terry Hall and Damon Albarn came the inimitable Amy Winehouse, as rich a musical talent as to have emerged from Britain this millennium.
Instantly recognisable for her sense of style as much as her dark-stained soul vocals, gritty lyrics and biting wit, Winehouse was a one woman cultural phenomenon. This Spring Summer ’16 Fred Perry are proud to release a collection inspired by Amy’s original designs from 2010 in support of The Amy Winehouse Foundation.
It’s an uncompromising look that wears its heart on its sleeve. A collection that could only have been designed by an extraordinary musician, we are proud to reissue for a second time the Amy Winehouse Knitted dress and the Amy Winehouse Tipped. Knitted and Bowling shirts respectively.
Heart embroidery has been added to these signature styles inspired by Amy’s traditional tattoos.
In addition to this, Fred Perry have commissioned Amy’s personal tattooist Henry Hate to create a piece of custom tattoo artwork inspired by traditional swallow tattoos and the logo of the Foundation which can be seen embroidered on the iconic Fred Perry shirt style adapted by Amy herself and a red Gingham bowling shirt.
The Amy Winehouse Foundation works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. Offering support, information and inspiring disadvantage young people to help them reach their full potential.
