irst showcasing in 2002, over the past decade Alexandra Moura has been constantly evolving the style of her unconventional work. While in the business a consistent focal point of her collections has been the use of contrast.
Within her collections it is possible to identify the confrontation of “I” and the “other”, light and shadow, as well as sharp and soft. The sculptural aesthetic that is always present gives an extension to the body form, creating captivating silhouettes that transform the model. Moura’s world transgresses the typical restrictions of fashion, seeking inspiration from outside the industry. Her versatility, skills and uniqueness transcend the concept of time, producing garments that incorporate both the futuristic and timeless. She works with a palette predominately composed of neutral black and white tones. She then applies a vista of colours including bright yellows, greens, blues and intense reds, creating a contrast to her neutral palette, again representing the polarity that Moura continues to experiment with.
